Job Summary
Provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for patients with speech, language, swallowing, and head-neck cancer disorders. Establish treatment goals, develop therapeutic programs, and determine appropriate periods for discontinuing therapy based on patient progress. Conduct video fluorography, invasive tracheoesophageal puncture evaluations, and esophageal voice training while maintaining statistical data and billing documentation. Participate in interdepartmental meetings, discharge rounds, and family conferences, and present in-services to nursing staff and residents. Maintain current field knowledge through literature review and seminars. Master's degree and ASHA certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- 1-2 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience
- ASHA - American Speech Language Hearing Association
- SP-L - Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the District of Columbia within 90 Days
