Job Summary
Screen, evaluate, and identify eligible students for speech and language services while designing and implementing appropriate intervention strategies. Collect student performance data to establish and maintain a daily schedule, providing communication disorder information to students, parents, teachers, and significant others. Support students in-person and online across Groner Elementary, Oak Street Campus, and Hillsboro Online Academy, working on-site at all locations. Submit a current resume, professional reference, and license copy via the Talent Ed application to Shannon Lawson. Maintain confidentiality of student and district information. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A license by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- A license issued by the Teacher Standards and Practice Commission (TSPC) prior to July 1, 2016
- Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Has completed the equivalent educational requirements and work experience necessary for the certificate
- Has completed the academic program and is acquiring supervised work experience to qualify for the certificate
- A Master's Degree in Speech and Language, Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders
- A valid driver's license

- The ability to follow oral and written instructions
- The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
- The ability to work harmoniously with others
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient in use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
- The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District
- Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year candidate
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons
- Experience with K-12
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking two languages as determined by District screening tool)
