Job Summary
Speech and Language Therapist to join the Clinical Team in Shrewsbury, providing assessment, consultation and supervision across learning disability and autism services; develop and implement communication targets using signs, symbols, photos, objects of reference and technology; train and support staff in communication aids; collaborate with Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Education and care to contribute to multidisciplinary care plans and EHCP targets; supervise a Therapy Assistant and undertake CPD; must have HCPC registration, RCSLT approval, and relevant post-qualification experience.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in speech and language therapy approved by HCPC and RCSLT
- Active HCPC registration
- NQP competency framework completed and substantial Grade 5/6 experience
- Experience supervising a Therapy Assistant
- Experience with pre-verbal and verbal children with Autism/Severe/Profound Learning Disabilities
- Experience within Looked After Child/CAMHS system
- IT skills (Microsoft Office and database case management)
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
