Job Summary
Provide screening, assessment and direct/indirect speech-language pathology services to students with communication disorders within the educational setting, aligned to established IEP goals and objectives. Develop and implement treatment plans consistent with IEPs, participate in the multidisciplinary team process and CSE Committee discussions, prepare evaluations and documentation of services and student progress, and discharge planning. Communicate results and proposed treatment plans, employ instructional/therapeutic methods and materials appropriate to each student’s goals, operate and train others on therapeutic equipment, develop and train augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC), participate in hearing screening programs, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws and procedures. Note: tasks reflect responsibilities described for the leave replacement position at Yorktown Central School District, Crompond School.
Required Qualifications
- NYS Certification as a Speech Teacher
- NYS License as a Speech and Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
