Job Summary
Deliver individualized instruction for students with disabilities and gifted and talented, implement research-based instructional strategies, and foster a classroom culture that supports student learning. Responsibilities include planning and conducting ESER/IEP meetings, coordinating with related service providers, supervising paraprofessional staff, maintaining confidentiality and accurate documentation, complying with federal/state regulations, and selecting a variety of instructional materials and modalities to accommodate diverse learning needs and measurement of progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in education required
- Alaska Teacher Certificate with Special Education endorsement required
- Three years’ experience in education preferred
- Inupiaq, Language, History & Culture experience preferred
- Experience with students with intensive needs preferred
- Experience with student’s visual impairment and braille preferred
