Job Summary
Provide treatment assistance to students with identified communication disorders across multiple school sites and via virtual meetings; implement documented treatment plans, document progress toward objectives, and report to therapists. Assist SLPs during assessments and with clerical tasks; prepare therapy materials and AAC devices; adapt instructional materials; maintain student records and data charts; observe and report behavioral patterns; interact with diverse learners and families; work independently with minimal supervision; travel locally between worksites using own transportation; proficient in operating computers and assistive technology; communicate effectively in written and oral form; participate in goal planning, monitoring progress, and self-advocacy for students; promote a collaborative, inclusive educational environment and pursue ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate of arts degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders, or graduation from a speech-language pathology assistant program
- Current registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board; prior SLPA experience in educational or clinical settings is preferred
- Possession of valid California driver’s license, insurance, and willingness to travel locally using own transportation, with mileage reimbursed, as needed
- Two years of related experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with learners, parents, personnel and community
- California Resident, daily commutable distance to the campus
