Job Summary
The SPED Instructional Aide supports the Teacher by assisting with classroom activities for EK-2nd grade students, promoting positive student behaviors, and helping maintain a safe, collaborative classroom climate. Responsibilities include supporting lessons and instructional plans, assisting with parent and student relations, chaperoning and coordinating school activities, performing clerical duties (grading papers, copying), aiding with classroom technology, maintaining classroom and common areas, and participating in duties such as field trips, morning/ dismissal, and lunch supervision. Requires an Associate degree or equivalent (or Paraprofessional Exam), proficiency in MS Office, successful BCI/FBI check, ability to manage confidential information, strong written and verbal communication skills, and physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs. Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus. Starting hourly rate is $15.50/hour, with benefits including health, life, retirement, PTO, and professional growth opportunities. Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Paraprofessional’s Exam
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
- Ability to meet educational standards as applicable
- Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
- Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus
