Job Summary

Serve as Administrative Designee for IEP meetings and review documents to ensure accurate documentation before locking. Collaborate with the Principal, Home Support Office, and site administration to monitor IEP program fidelity and coordinate service requests from SSTs. Lead special education department meetings for RSP teachers, disclose new student timelines, and integrate PLC learning into department goals. Interpret state and federal special education regulations, disseminate compliance information, and provide translation as needed. Maintain accurate student records in designated systems, support alternate reclassification processes, and prepare monthly reports on services and assessment timelines. Provide coaching to special education teachers, conduct classroom walkthroughs, and offer direct feedback on instructional practices. Ensure lunch and break coverage for BII staff and support logistical preparation for special education trainings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • State Board Certification/Licensing
  • valid California Education Specialist Credential

Desired Qualifications

  • master's degree or higher
  • At least four (4) years of special education experience in a public-school setting
  • Knowledge of a range of PK-12 instructional frameworks and curriculum
  • Knowledge of a range of Special Education program models
  • Experience or commitment working on a team as well as across teams
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to work with students and staff to motivate positively
