Job Summary
Implement and adhere to Positive Operational Culture principles while providing instructional services to students. Collaborate with staff to deliver a consistent curriculum, diagnose and evaluate student progress, and establish rapport that drives achievement. Confront inappropriate behavior appropriately and accept additional tasks including extracurricular assignments and a flexible work schedule. Work within a supportive environment for at-risk youth on a 5 days on, 2 days off rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Possesses a current and valid State teaching credential in English, Math, Science and/or Special Education k-12
- Have related experience working with at-risk youth
- Have three or more years of successful classroom teaching
- Possess a knowledge of: Instructional strategies and how they can be employed to deliver curriculum and assess student learning
- Possess a knowledge of: Various methodologies and research related to learning and working with at-risk, high school aged youth
- Possess a knowledge of: Effective classroom management techniques and behavioral management styles that result in understanding of how to manage and teach to various learning styles
- Possess a knowledge of: Effective communication techniques that enable positive and productive collaboration with site staff
- Possess a knowledge of: Technology and how it can be used as an educational tool
- Have the ability to: Establish a teaching rapport with students which results in student achievement in all program areas
- Have the ability to: Diagnose, prescribe and evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis
- Have the ability to: Collaborate with staff to deliver a consistent curriculum and implement a team approach to working with students
- Have the ability to: Confront inappropriate behavior appropriately and take the necessary action as outlined in the program procedures
- Have the ability to: Accept additional tasks as assigned including flexible work schedule and extracurricular assignments
- Be able to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test
