Spectrum Management Specialist

Job Summary

Provide direct operational and administrative support to the MDA Spectrum Management Office, managing the Frequency Authorization tracker and developing system certifications using STEPSTONE and EL-CID programs. Coordinate frequency authorization requests via Spectrum XXI, troubleshoot electromagnetic interference issues between developmental and deployed systems, and document standard operating procedures. Develop Host Nation Coordination packets and site surveys for global deployments while maintaining critical reports and databases to support engineering activities. Requires 7+ years of spectrum management experience, active Secret clearance, and proficiency in GEMSIS suite tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) theory and electromagnetic principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strict attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Teams
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work
  • Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire
  • Candidates are required to have the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment
  • Bachelor's Degree

Desired Qualifications

  • Graduate of a military spectrum management school
  • 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management
  • Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
  • Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI)
  • Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook)
  • Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online [HNSWD-O], Joint Spectrum Data Repository [JSDR], Integrated Spectrum Desktop)
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation
  • Experience with Mat-lab or other programming languages
  • Knowledge of the Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution Online (JSIR-O) portal
  • Experience with NTIA EL-CID
  • Knowledge of standard engineering practices
  • Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis
