Job Summary
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis by unpacking, routing, identifying, labeling, and packing them for shipment to testing facilities. Accurately enter patient data and document problem specimens while meeting department activity and production goals. Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment following established standard operating procedures. Handle biological specimens with attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of millions of healthcare tests monthly.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse
