Job Summary
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis by unpacking and routing them to staging areas, accurately identifying and labeling samples, and packing them for shipment to testing facilities. Store excess specimens properly and maintain high accuracy in data entry of patient information. Resolve and document any problem specimens while meeting department activity and production goals. Handle biological specimens with care, lift up to 40lbs, and pass a standardized color blindness test. Work Monday through Friday from 4:30pm to 1:00am with rotating weekend schedules and overtime as needed. Ensure precise specimen processing to support millions of healthcare tests monthly.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)
- 1 year of medical or production experience
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
