Job Summary
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, unpack and route them to staging areas, and accurately identify and label samples. Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities while meeting department activity and production goals. Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples and perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely. Resolve and document any problem specimens encountered. Handle biological specimens with care, maintaining high attention to detail and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Work Monday through Friday from 6:30pm to 3:00am with rotating weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse
