Job Summary
Specimen Processor I at Labcorp in Meridian, MS. Responsibilities include preparing laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, unpacking and routing specimens to staging areas, accurately identifying and labeling specimens, packing and shipping specimens to proper testing facilities, meeting department activity and production goals, preparing and storing excess specimen samples, data entry of patient information accurately and promptly, resolving and documenting any problem specimens, and contributing to a fast-paced, high-throughput accessioning workflow. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and comfortable handling biological specimens; preferred 1+ year in lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing/warehouse, or medical experience; strong data entry with MS Office skills; ability to lift up to 40 lbs and pass a color blind test; works in a team environment with attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 or more years relative experience (lab/accessioning, production/manufacturing/warehouse environment)
- 1 or more years of medical or production experience
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Ability to pass a standardized color blind test
