Job Summary
Specimen Processor I position at LabCorp in Mobile, AL. Responsibilities include preparing laboratory specimens for analysis, unpacking and routing specimens to staging areas, accurately identifying and labeling specimens, packing and shipping specimens to testing facilities, meeting department production goals, preparing/storing excess samples, data entry of patient information, and resolving/documenting problematic specimens. Requires high school diploma or GED (or equivalent) and willingness to work in a team environment; preferred experience in lab/acc assessioning/production/warehouse. Must be able to handle biological specimens, accurately identify specimens, use MS Office, and lift up to 40 lbs; color vision testing is required. Benefits are available for various employment levels and schedules, with a shift from 1:00pm to 10:00pm and rotating Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40lbs.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
