Job Summary
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis by unpacking, routing, identifying, labeling, packing, and shipping samples to testing facilities. Accurately identify and label specimens, pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities, and meet department activity and production goals. Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples, perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner, and resolve and document any problem specimens. Work various days 6:30pm-7am with a rotating schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Able to pass a standardized colorblindness test
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse
