Job Summary
Specimen Processor I at LabCorp performs specimen preparation, accessioning, labeling, routing, packing and shipping of specimens, and data entry in a fast-paced laboratory setting. Responsibilities include unpacking and routing specimens to staging areas, accurately identifying and labeling specimens, meeting department production goals, preparing and storing excess specimen samples, and documenting data in timely fashion. Requires ability to lift up to 40 lbs, comfortable handling biological specimens, strong data entry and organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Work schedule is Monday–Friday 5:00pm–1:30am with rotating Saturdays in Sarasota, FL, and a team-oriented environment focused on accuracy and quality of healthcare testing.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- 1 year or more experience in lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)
- 1 year or more of medical or production experience (preferred)
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
