Job Summary
Specimen Processor responsibilities include preparing laboratory specimens for analysis, accurate accessioning, labeling, packing and shipping specimens to testing facilities, and ensuring proper data entry of patient information. Role emphasizes adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining inventory, preserving specimen integrity, maintaining confidentiality and laboratory security, and meeting department production goals. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs, work Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm, and operate MS Office tools with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced team environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- Able to lift up to 40lbs.
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Strong data entry and organizational skills
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Can work independently
- Experience working in a team environment
