Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day department operations by leading the team through daily processes, specimen preparation, and routing to prep areas. Enforce policies and procedures while performing quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Resolve production errors as requested by management, escalating issues when necessary, and engage in continuous process and service level improvements. Assist with administrative duties and encourage best practices to maintain operational standards. This role requires split shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, with flexibility to cover 1st and 3rd shifts and weekends as needed. Candidates must have three years of lab or production experience and strong critical thinking skills for a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- 3 years or more experience in lab, accessioning, data entry or production
- Strong computer skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Split shifts ranging from Monday – Friday 8:00pm – 11:00pm
- Ability to cover 1st and 3rd shift and weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree
- 1 year or more experience working in a clinical laboratory
- 1 year or more experience as a people leader
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
