Job Summary
Specimen Processing Specialist at Labcorp in Raritan, NJ. Responsible for coordinating between the lab, clients, and patients; researching and resolving customer inquiries via calls, chat, and email; preparing and triaging specimens for analysis; accurately identifying, labeling, packing, and shipping specimens; ensuring data accuracy across multiple databases; and maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment. Requires a high school diploma and basic medical/laboratory experience; strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to handle biological specimens and pass a color-blindness test. Schedule: Mon-Fri with alternating Saturdays; overtime possible. Salary range: $18.25-$22/hr depending on experience; benefits for eligible employees.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
- 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to pass a color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
