Job Summary
Collect biological specimens at client sites while maintaining Chain of Custody integrity, proper labeling, and sufficient sample volumes. Follow standard operating procedures, complete and verify sample requisitions using Electronic Lab Requisitions, and obtain initial insurance verification through Passport. Package specimens for shipment, order supplies, manage the budget, and request patient payments where applicable. Foster open communication with clients and sales managers, answer policy questions, and ensure compliance with safety requirements and HIPAA training. Maintain an excellent working knowledge of Aegis testing services and represent the company professionally in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality
- Attention to detail
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
- Ability to send, receive, and monitor emails
- Basic understanding of web site navigation including URL and how to enter website addresses
- Ability to maintain and enter usernames/password and understand why credentials are important
- Basic understanding of ports on a computer (USB for signature pad, printers)
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Experience and understanding of Windows operating system
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare/medical field
- Preferred experience with tablets and use of a stylus
- Knowledge of how to save or delete files and folders
- Understanding necessity of security measure
