Specimen Collector I - PRN

Job Summary
Collect biological specimens at client sites while maintaining chain of custody, proper labeling, and sufficient sample volumes. Follow standard operating procedures for sample collection, complete electronic lab requisitions, and verify insurance information through Passport. Package specimens for shipment and obtain initial insurance verification for billing. Answer client and patient questions regarding Aegis policies and request payment where applicable. Maintain records for reporting, order supplies, and manage the budget with regional and area sales managers. Complete required compliance and HIPAA training while adhering to safety requirements and PPE use. Work Monday and Wednesday mornings for 12 hours weekly. Support marketing and sales objectives through active participation in departmental goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality
- Attention to detail
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
- Ability to send, receive, and monitor emails
- Basic understanding of web site navigation including URL and how to enter website addresses
- Ability to maintain and enter usernames/password and understand why credentials are important
- Basic understanding of ports on a computer (USB for signature pad, printers)
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Experience and understanding of Windows operating system
- Schedule: Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, totaling 12 hours per week
