Specimen Collector I - Phlebotomy

Job Summary
Collect biological specimens at client sites while maintaining chain of custody integrity and ensuring proper labeling and sealing. Follow standard operating procedures for sample collection, verify insurance information through Passport, and package specimens for shipment. Complete and maintain required compliance training, including HIPAA, and answer client questions regarding Aegis policies. Order supplies, manage the budget with RSM and ASM, and request payments from patients where applicable. Maintain regular communication with sales managers, support marketing objectives, and participate in process improvements. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, up to 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid phlebotomy certification
- Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality
- Attention to detail
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
- Ability to send, receive, and monitor emails
- Basic understanding of web site navigation including URL and how to enter website addresses
- Ability to maintain and enter usernames/password and understand why credentials are important
- Basic understanding of ports on a computer (USB for signature pad, printers)
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Experience and understanding of Windows operating system
