Specimen Collector I

Job Summary
Collect biological specimens at client sites while maintaining chain of custody integrity and ensuring sufficient sample volume. Follow standard operating procedures for sample collection, labeling, and sealing, then package specimens for shipment. Obtain initial insurance verification through Passport, complete requisitions using Electronic Lab Requisitions, and answer client questions regarding Aegis policies. Manage supply orders and budgets, request patient payments where applicable, and maintain open communication with Regional and Area Sales Managers. Comply with safety requirements, complete required training, and support marketing objectives while representing Aegis professionally.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality
- Attention to detail
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
- Ability to send, receive, and monitor emails
- Basic understanding of web site navigation including URL and how to enter website addresses
- Ability to maintain and enter usernames/password and understand why credentials are important
- Basic understanding of ports on a computer (USB for signature pad, printers)
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Experience and understanding of Windows operating system
