Job Summary
Collect and process laboratory specimens including oral, urine, and blood samples according to established procedures and infection prevention protocols. Accurately label, verify patient information, and ship specimens while performing direct observation when required. Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of laboratory specimens to ensure accurate data entry and billing information. Maintain neat, clean work areas, order inventory supplies, and troubleshoot missing information at the time of collection. Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and establish rapport to provide a frictionless patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish
- Valid driver's license
- Current auto insurance coverage
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle record check
- Flexibility to navigate between multiple clinics
- High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
- Certifications as may be required for specimen collection
- Possession of a valid driver's license/Auto insurance (for those that travel between clinics) or alternate means of travel
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience
- In Depth Knowledge of specimen collection techniques and procedures
- Advanced understanding of preventing personal exposure to bio-hazards and infection prevention measures
- Specimen collection protocols
- In-depth knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment best practices
- Prior patient experience (examples may include Specimen collection, phlebotomist, medical assistant, nurse's aide, healthcare technician, nursing students)
