Job Summary
Collect patient specimens including urine, oral fluid, and blood samples in physician offices and clinical environments while adhering to Ethos protocols. Perform anterior nasal swabs for COVID-19 testing and complete venipuncture when applicable to assigned locations. Verify patient information, fill out laboratory requisition forms, and enter data into the Laboratory Information System or EMR. Label and package specimens for transport, track collection details, and coordinate with clinic staff to obtain missing order information. Maintain a secure, clean workspace, wear PPE as required, and represent Ethos professionally during patient interactions. This role involves working Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 5 PM with no on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to see, hear, speak, and interact effectively in patient-facing environments
- Ability to sit, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements
- Ability to handle specimens and materials in a clinical environment
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures (heated or air-conditioned clinical environments)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior specimen collection, laboratory, or medical experience
- Experience in customer service, logistics, or data entry environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work within established procedures, policies, and compliance guidelines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when completing documentation and specimen handling
- Strong interpersonal and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently under remote supervision
- Demonstrated professionalism and disciplined work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Comfortable utilizing technology to perform work functions in a remote environment, including mobile applications and online training systems
