Job Summary
Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens, process and package collections for shipping, and serve as an intermediary between clinics and the laboratory. Record patient information, physician orders, and lab details while resolving specimen concerns through the ordering portal. Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite and observe collections when applicable. Drive between multiple facilities as required. Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, HiTrust, and cyber security policies.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector
- 1+ years of experience in the medical field
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to
- Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to
- Physical requirements: sitting 60%, walking 20%, standing 20%, lifting up to 20 lbs
- Must pass National, federal, and county criminal history background check
- Must pass Global watchlist search
- Must pass Social Security Number (SSN) trace
- Must pass FACIS (Fraud and Abuse Control Information System) Level 3 search
- Must pass SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusions
- Must pass Education verification
- Must pass Driving record (Motor Vehicle Report)
- Must pass 5-panel urine drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a specimen collector preferred
- Experience in the medical field preferred
- Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus
