Job Summary
Enter patient demographic and test information accurately into the computer system and process laboratory samples for in-house and reference lab testing. Set-up and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring they are delivered to proper departments and placed on instruments while maintaining a clean, safe workplace with appropriate personal protective equipment. Troubleshoot problems as necessary, identify specimen errors, and follow procedures to correct issues including proper documentation. Scan requisitions, run missing requisition reports, and follow-up on pending items. Perform multiple tasks simultaneously while supporting laboratory goals and policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Data Entry experience
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients, patients and/or visitors
