Job Summary
Perform GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome-moly, aluminum, Inconel, and titanium for pipe systems and pressure vessels. Interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and weld maps to execute fit-up, tacking, and final welding while monitoring pre-heat and interpass temperatures. Conduct visual weld inspections, document records, and perform leak testing to develop and implement repairs. Maintain welding equipment and adhere to OSHA regulations, daily JSA/toolbox talks, and site safety protocols. Travel to field sites in refineries, petrochemical plants, and gas processing facilities to meet project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on welding experience
- demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following: pipe/pressure vessel, stainless steel, aluminum, or exotic alloys
- Current AWS or ASME Section IX welder qualifications
- pipe welding certifications
- Proficiency in GTAW/TIG welding
- open root pipe experience
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret weld symbols, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and weld maps
- Working knowledge of applicable codes: ASME B31.3, Section VIII; AWS D1.1/D1.2
- Ability to pass client-specific or project-specific Welder Qualification Tests (WQTs) on demand
- Valid driver's license
- clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Experience working under an ASME/NBBI R or U stamp repair program
- Experience in gas processing, LNG, chemical processing, or oil refining environments
- TWIC card
- ability to obtain one
- Completion of an accredited welding technology program or registered apprenticeship
- Willing to travel
