Specialty Sports Instructor - Gymnastics

Job Summary
Instruct and coach gymnastics and related sports activities for youth at the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, delivering sport-specific training and skill development under the Sports Director(s). Responsibilities include providing instruction, participating in events, maintaining relationships with schools, parents, participants, and other groups, creating environments that support program goals, conducting assessments, and attending required training. Must hold or obtain required certifications (Safe Sport, Heads Up Concussion online; CPR/First Aid as needed) and pass a background check; role is in-person at YMCA locations with emphasis on safety, customer service, and program quality.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in coaching or instructing OR 2+ years competitive experience at the college level or equivalent in the sport
- Must currently hold or be able to acquire any required certification for sport
- Knowledge of how to instruct the sport including the rules and technique
- Ability to motivate, coach, and lead participants
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Criminal background check
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check including drug screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
- Must obtain any other certifications including CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire date
