Specialty Representative, Rheumatology - Seattle, WA

Job Summary

Execute sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets while managing assigned territories in the Seattle, Everett, Olympia, and Spokane areas. Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives, handle objections, and optimize coverage frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities. Build trusted relationships with specialty physicians, pharmacists, and nurses by differentiating AbbVie's value proposition and developing disease state experts. Continuously share market intelligence on competitors, disease dynamics, and product expertise with in-field teams and brand stakeholders to anticipate environmental changes. Maintain HCIR credentialing requirements and drive sales strategies through strategic thinking and peer collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience
  • High school diploma/GED
  • At least five (5) years of experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
  • Proven track record of success in selling
  • Solid presentation skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
  • Good standing and/or eligibility to obtain HCIR credentials
  • Background checks
  • Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
  • Fingerprinting
  • Specific licenses required by individual state or cities
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proficient use of business tools
  • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
