Job Summary
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to manage assigned territories and maximize short- and long-term sales performance. Deliver on brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives by creating pre-call plans, evaluating post-call performance, and handling objections to close sales calls. Continuously build customer relationships and share market intelligence regarding competitors, disease states, and account dynamics with the in-field team and sales manager. Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers while identifying and maintaining disease state experts and speakers to optimize brand performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- Five (5) years of experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
- Proven track record of leadership success
- Solid presentation skills
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Meet safe driving requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks
- Drug screens
- Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
- Fingerprinting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
