Job Summary
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territories in Charlottesville, Richmond, Harrisonburg, and Farmville, and build strong customer relationships to maximize sales performance. Deliver on brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives while creating pre-call plans and executing post-call evaluations to continuously improve results. Proactively serve customer needs, handle objections, and gain logical calls to action to close every sales interaction. Develop call plans that optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, and share market intelligence on competitors, disease states, and account dynamics with the in-field team and brand managers. Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers and maintain disease state experts to drive brand performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- At least five (5) years of experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Expert resource status among relevant stakeholders
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Meet safe driving requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks
- Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
- Fingerprinting
- Live within a reasonable distance of the primary city
- Cover Charlottesville, Richmond, Harrisonburg, and Farmville, Virginia
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
