Job Summary
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short and long-term sales performance while managing assigned territories and targeted accounts. Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets by creating pre-call plans, executing post-call evaluations, and handling objections to close calls. Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements. Develop call plans that optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, while continuously building market intelligence on competitors, segments, and dynamics to share with the in-field team and brand strategy. Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers and maintain disease state experts and speakers to drive brand performance. This field-based role requires living within reasonable distance of Kansas City East, MO, and involves satisfying all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements, including background checks and drug screens. Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment screening are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- At least five (5) years of experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
- Proven track record of leadership success
- Solid presentation skills
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to proactively identify customer style / behavior
- Ability to adapt quickly all aspects of selling approach
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Ability to meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to drive a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
- Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
