Job Summary
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short and long-term sales performance, delivering on financial targets, marketing objectives, and brand KPIs. Develop and execute call plans that optimize coverage and frequency to key customers while building trusted relationships and solving customer needs. Create pre-call plans, evaluate post-call performance, and handle objections to close every sales call. Continuously build market intelligence on customer expectations, competitors, and disease dynamics to share with the in-field team and optimize brand execution. Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts to drive brand performance. This field-based role requires living within a reasonable distance of Hattiesburg, MS, and includes a valid driver's license and HCIR credentialing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- At least five (5) years of experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Meet safe driving requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks
- Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
- Fingerprinting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries)
