Job Summary
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short and long-term sales performance, managing assigned territories and targeted accounts while placing patients at the center of efforts. Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets by creating pre-call plans, executing post-call evaluations, and handling objections to close on every sales call. Proactively build trusted customer relationships by identifying disease state experts, developing speakers, and sharing market intelligence on competitors and segments with the in-field team. Maintain HCIR credentialing requirements, pass background checks and drug screens, and hold a valid driver's license for daily travel. This field-based role requires a Bachelor's degree or five years of relevant industry experience and operates within AbbVie's neuroscience and immunology therapeutic areas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- At least five (5) years of experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry
- In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
- Strong business acumen
- Proficient use of business tools
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Meet safe driving requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks
- Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
- Fingerprinting
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas
