Job Summary

Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets. Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives, handle objections, and optimize coverage frequency to maximize access and sales opportunities. Build trusted customer relationships by serving expectations and achieving win-win agreements while differentiating AbbVie's value proposition with health providers. Develop and maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance, sharing market intelligence on competitors and dynamics with the in-field team. Proactively identify customer styles to adapt selling approaches and influence peers as a credible resource.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • Meet safe driving requirements
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover territory
  • Overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
  • Driving a personal auto or company car or truck
  • Driving a powered piece of material handling equipment
  • Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
  • Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
  • Background checks
  • Drug screens
  • Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
  • Fingerprinting
  • Specific licenses required by individual state or cities

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills
  • Offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities to address challenges
  • Understands and leverages findings to develop sales strategies
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Is recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders
