Job Summary
Read blueprints and specifications to determine material scope, quantities, and sizes for steam, fluid, or gas systems. Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipes, flanges, valves, supports, and gauges according to plans and applicable standards. Identify all required tools and safety risks, then perform tests to ensure system quality. Hoist loads using rigging equipment and work at heights up to 300 feet, including excavations and inside structures. Lead helper and labor positions while adhering to Zachry safety rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass ASAP drug screening
- Must have 6+ years working as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fitter Helper with NCCER plus certification
- Must be able to read prints
- Must have thorough knowledge of pipe fitting procedures and skills
- Must have good leadership and communication skills
- Must have experience on an industrial construction project
- Must have demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience
- Must have ability to read prints and construction drawings
- Must have ability to read and interpret technical manuals and manufacturers manuals and instructions
- Must demonstrate knowledge on the pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for a combined-cycle power plant
- Must have 4+ years' experience with the pipe fitting processes
- Must have good problem-solving abilities
- Must have good aptitude and manual dexterity
- Must have good reading comprehension
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must have good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
- Must have commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations
- Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
- Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind
- Must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots
