Job Summary
Obtain referrals and clinical progress notes, complete prior authorizations, and ensure proper documentation in all relevant platforms. Dispense specialty medications by processing insurance claims, managing inventory, and arranging temperature-sensitive shipments while complying with regulatory standards. Answer patient and medical staff inquiries, research patient assistance programs, and document encounters in EMR and care planning systems.
Required Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician Certification from accredited pharmacy technician program
- Must submit pre-employment drug testing resulting in negative outcome
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Must be a great listener, capable of empathy and patience
- Must be able to effectively communicate with patients as well as various levels of internal and external colleagues
- Must be able to document thoroughly
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must possess intermediate to advanced operating knowledge of computers
- Knowledge and experience in processing prescriptions including problem-solving third-party issues is required
- Ability to learn and operate EMR and care planning platform is required
- Must maintain current WA state Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
