Job Summary

Specialty Patient Navigator facilitates psychosocial assessments and coordinates care across cancer services, including palliative services, to support the patient-physician relationship and improve quality of life. Works with the Cancer Committee and Cancer Center staff to evaluate data, integrate barriers into the Quality Improvement Plan, and participate in annual program evaluation and weekly multidisciplinary meetings. Responsibilities include meeting with new patients, ensuring psychosocial assessments are completed, guiding patients and families through the care plan and insurance/reimbursement needs, coordinating with physicians and caregivers, communicating with referring facilities, and aiding in navigation of patient resources and programs. Requires RN licensure in ND or a compact state, BLS, and English proficiency; minimum one year related experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license in North Dakota or Compact State Agreement
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English for effective communication with patients and team members
