Job Summary
Paraprofessional supporting PreK students in DeKalb County's Early Learning Center, providing small group and individualized instruction per teacher lesson plans, assisting with classroom management, and aiding assessment and materials development. Requires collaboration with teachers, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to support students' educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Education credentials include significant college coursework or a HS diploma with GACE paraprofessional certification, plus obtaining a Professional Standards Commission paraprofessional certificate. Responsibilities include delivering instructional support, arranging instructional materials, and maintaining relevant records and performance assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university
- High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment
- Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate
