Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse using the nursing process, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care across departments. Manage assigned patients while upholding their rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, along with prolonged standing and walking. Maintain Basic Life Support certification and acquire additional unit-specific certifications such as ACLS or NRP as required. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- LPN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
