Job Summary
Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider or Registered Professional Nurse using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability and coordinate care with other departments. Obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state and complete required certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or PEARS within the department's timeframe. Perform duties involving prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting patients up to 50 pounds. This role is part of a collaborative team at Mercy, offering tuition support and matched retirement plans for eligible staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license within the hiring state
- Meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to bend and stoop
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Comparable education experience
- Successful licensure (alternative to accredited program)
- IV Certification within 1 year of hire
