Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) providing outpatient care in Mercy Women’s Health with focus on minimally invasive gynecology and urogynecology. Responsibilities include rooming patients (vitals, history, medication reconciliation), assisting physicians during procedures, performing urodynamics, catheter placement, post-void residual assessments, bladder scans, injections, and in-office testing; ensure patient safety and infection control; coordinate surgical scheduling through Epic Marketplace; document in Epic (ICD-10, CPT), educate patients (e.g., intermittent self-catheterization), and support front desk tasks (check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling). Maintain standards per Mercy policies and state/federal regulations; collaborate with interdisciplinary team; comply with dress code and ongoing education requirements; required education/licensing and BLS; potential unit-specific certifications may be required (ACLS/PALS/PEARS/ST.A.B.LE, etc.).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Licensure: current LPN license in the hiring state; Experience: can be new or experienced LPN; Certifications: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) or eligible within 30 days; possible unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., etc.) as required by unit; Physical requirements: ability to stand/walk most of the shift, lift up to 50 pounds; note on qualifications may include ACLS/PALS/PEARS/STABLE prerequisites based on unit
