Job Summary
Specialty Care Coordinator drives patient onboarding for specialty dental care, clearly communicates proposed treatment plans and financial options, and coordinates with referring/co-treating providers to ensure timely communication, accurate records, and smooth collaboration. Responsibilities include educating patients about treatment recommendations, establishing treatment contracts with timelines and financial responsibilities, managing referrals and records, submitting pre-authorizations for MD/PPO/HMO plans, maintaining patient flow and scheduling, increasing patient conversion from general dentistry to specialty consults, documenting communications in patient records, collaborating with the Specialty Lead and Office Manager, monitoring provider changes and scheduling conflicts, achieving performance goals, and participating in ongoing training. Strong emphasis on insurance coordination, financial guidance, and bilingual communication (English/Spanish preferred). Essential functions also include maintaining compliance with documentation standards, coordinating with clinical teams, and supporting remote and in-office operations in a hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with PPO/HMO/Medicaid insurance
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Advanced dental terminology and treatment planning knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred (preferred)
- Reliable internet and dedicated remote workspace
- Ability to perform remote responsibilities effectively
