Job Summary
Coach and mentor teachers in implementing specially designed instruction across the district. Develop and deliver professional development for educators while monitoring fidelity of instruction to ensure compliance with Individualized Education Programs and district goals. Analyze student performance data to guide targeted coaching and support for students with disabilities. This grant-funded position requires a Bachelor's in special education, three years of relevant experience, and a valid Oklahoma teaching certificate. Continuation is contingent on grant funding availability. Tulsa Public Schools aims to inspire every student to love learning and achieve ambitious goals through equity and excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field
- Valid Driver's License
- Three (3) years of experience in special education, including implementation of specially designed instruction
- Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or providing professional development
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in Special Education
- Familiarity with federal and state special education laws and regulations
- In-depth knowledge of specially designed instruction and evidence-based practices for students with disabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
- Proficient in technology tools for education and data management
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with educators
- Ability to analyze data and use it to inform coaching and instructional decisions
- Open to change and applies critical thinking while developing solutions based on new guidelines, methods, and techniques
- Ability to manage both up and down and create buy-in from individuals with diverse perspectives and backgrounds
