Job Summary
Specialized Support Paraprofessional: Ed Coach supporting students in the MAICEI program at Middlesex Community College or other partner community colleges. The Ed Coach will accompany students in MCC classes (and possibly at Arlington High School) to support college-based transition services, serve as an academic tutor when needed, help students access college services/resources, foster student independence (including social and functional life skills), assist with time management/executive functioning, and collaborate with faculty and staff. Responsibilities include sending weekly progress updates to supervisors, maintaining confidentiality of educational records, attending regular coach meetings, and supporting vocational/career-related activities (mock interviews, job shadowing, and related duties). Reports to the High School Transition Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator; 183 days, 7 hours per day, with schedule aligned to community college terms; salary based on Arlington Education Association contract with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years college experience
- Related field experience working with students with disabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations of students
- Energetic, self-starter who can complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Technological competency on a variety of platforms (Blackboard, Google Suite, social media, etc.)
