Specialized Paraprofessional (Unit)

Assists the classroom teacher with implementing the student goals and classroom objectives, working with students individually and in small groups, and supporting daily classroom operations. Provides assistance for personal care and health-related needs, including toileting and medical procedures as directed. Helps monitor and record student progress, maintain confidentiality, supervise students in various settings, and support instructional strategies and behavioral/educational plans. Requires ability to move or reposition students, supervise in playground/lunchroom/common areas, and collaborate with school personnel. Maintains equipment and supports substitutes as needed. Must pass background checks as required by district policy. This role is a nine-month, part-time paraprofessional position at Cornerstone Elementary School within Wooster City School District.
