Job Summary
Plan and deliver specialized electives instruction in Band, Art, PE, Health, or STEM aligned with Ohio Learning Standards and OTES 2.0. Differentiate content to support diverse learners, manage inclusive classroom environments, and coordinate student performances, exhibitions, and fitness events. Maintain subject-specific equipment, safety protocols, and accurate student records while collaborating with staff and parents. Operate in active, non-traditional settings with occasional loud noise exposure. Requires valid Ohio teaching license, background check clearance, and ability to lift 25 pounds. Full-time exempt role for 184 days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid, active Ohio Teaching License/Certificate for the specific subject area and grade band (e.g., Multi-Age P-12 in Art, Music, Physical Education, or Health; middle/high school STEM endorsements where applicable)
- Ability to pass Federal (FBI) and State (BCI) background checks
- Ability to lift and configure specialized subject-area equipment as necessary
- Push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion
- Subject-specific Ohio Learning Standards and OTES 2.0 framework
- Child development theories and trauma-informed practices
- Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) frameworks and accommodation strategies
- Relevant safety regulations and procedures for specialized learning spaces (e.g., kilns, labs, athletic spaces)
- Classroom and environment management in active, non-traditional learning spaces
- Digital literacy and educational technology integration
- Formative and summative assessment design
- Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
- Organizational management and supply inventory control
- Adapt instruction dynamically for diverse learners and varied skill levels
- Maintain composure and control in high-energy or loud instructional environments
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students, staff, and community members
- Strictly adheres to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators, state ethics laws, and district policies and guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or subject-specific field
- Experience with Differentiated Instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and educational technology integration
