Job Summary
Deliver comprehensive, high-acuity care to critically ill patients across three ICU units comprising 36 beds, providing continuous electronic cardiac monitoring and advanced interventions such as mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive medication administration. Manage surgical, medical, and cardiac critical care patients, including those requiring isolation, while performing procedures like arterial line monitoring, gastric lavage, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Maintain 12-hour shifts (7:30-8:00) in a complex environment supporting stepdown acuity levels. This role is part of a 10-year Integrated Critical Staffing Program addressing critical shortages in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Required Qualifications
- BLS and ACLS certifications accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Unrestricted license to practice nursing in one of the States, Territories, or Commonwealths of the United States or the District of Columbia
- Minimum of three (3) years of current ICU nursing experience
- ASN
- Education must have been completed at a school accredited by the ACEN or CCNE
